Visit with Uncle TJ

My brother TJ finished his 6 years in the USCG last month (woohoo! freedom!) where he had been stationed in San Diego for the last several years. He liked it out there for the most part but was ready to be out of the military and to a climate which involved changes of seasons, because as he puts it, "I'm not a reptile!"

Sweet kisses

So he's snagged a job with NOAA in Seattle, which he begins on March 15. It involves a rotation of 2 months on land, then 2 months at sea. He's pretty stoked -- a lot of people were up for this position so he was thrilled to have landed it.

In the meantime, he made another one of his cross-country treks. The first leg involved driving from San Diego to just outside Fort Worth, TX to visit with our mom, Shiloh's Nonnie. He stayed there a week and then went to Owensboro, KY to visit our grandmother, who raised us. Shiloh and I made a quick 2 hour trip to OBKY to visit him there. Later that week, he stayed overnight with us in Louisville before heading on up to Maryland, where he's dropping off his dog Toby with our dad, since he won't be able to watch him the months while he's at sea. (From Maryland, he's now driving WAY across country to Seattle! Crazy guy!).

Here are some photos from Shiloh's visit with her Uncle TJ, whom she hadn't seen since she was 6 months old and we went to OBX, NC.
