First Haircut

That's right! We decided it was finally time for our Little Miss to go for that first snip, snip. Her hair was starting to get pretty long but I thought it would look healthier if we got her baby hair trimmed on the ends. I was also taking a gamble that her only hint-of-curls would disappear! We took her to Brittney, who's been doing my hair for 6 or 7 years now. Here are the before photos:

At first she didn't mind the drape...


...but moments later she panicked and started yelling, "It's too tight!! It's TOO tight!!"


Doesn't she look so grown up here? Wow, I'm having visions of getting ready for prom and suddenly I'm sweating...


"Do I have any hair left back there??"




Halfway through the haircut, to distract her, Brittney gave her a lock of her cut hair to hold... and Shiloh became obsessed with it! She even asked for a bag to take it home in...


And finally the ordeal was over and Shi got to pick out her sucker. (Actually, the entire process took a whopping 5 minutes because, as you can see, Brittney really just trimmed an inch or inch and a half from the back of her hair).


"So Mom, how do I look?"


*I was thrilled to discover she kept her "end curlies," as I call them. :)
