i'm a little late with the post, but Shi's 2 month checkup was last wednesday. she was a whopping 11 lbs 1 oz!! so we're holding strong at 50th percentile for her weight. she'd grown to 22 1/4" as well. mommy cannot believe her sweet angel is 9 weeks old already!!!
saturday evening i put the books away long enough to watch the darjeeling limited with the hubby. it was alright ... didn't quite live up to my expectations, even though i'm not exactly sure what those were. i am a fan of adrien brody (he was stellar as noah percy in "the village"!) and was pretty entertained by his character peter. i also did enjoy some of the quirks and eccentricities of the film, such as the music, and clever cinematic scenes like the character showcase in the train near the end. but overall, it was one of those movies that, when you've finished watching it, you sit there for a second or two and think, 'yep, there it was, another.... movie.' i guess it was fairly entertaining. come to think of it, that's also how i felt after "the life aquatic..." and "the royal tenenbaums" too... (sincerest apologies and hats of to you, wes anderson!).
as soon as my boards are over (aaaggghhh!) and i have some more free time, i would like to attempt one of the hand sewing projects seen here -- most likely the snail or butterfly for baby girl. (the turtle would also be cute for my nephew Hunter who is due in july!) now this could turn out super cute or super disastrous... but i've been wanting to try my hand at some cute craftiness. my friend leslie made the turtle and it turned out super cute!! but then, she is very talented in that arena... so, we shall see :D

me? Tallented?? HA! :P Erik and others always say so, but I feel I'd be more qualified for the title if I were the one who'd created the pattern or something... :)
If you do decide to try the turtle, I have the pattern still... well, my mom has it at the moment, but it could easily be gotten from her. The pattern card is such that you have to use tracing paper (or regular) to trace the shapes before you cut it out... but they are really super cute, and I always find it nice to have something to do with my hands while I sit and watch Erik play his video games. :)
It's hard to believe Shiloh is already 9 weeks old! The pics of her and Nella are too cute!
Those hand sewing projects are so adorable! I might have to try one, too.
