Just Keep Swimming!

Swim class

Our little munchkin has graduated to the advanced toddlers' swim class at my work. She's been through the Polliwog and Jellyfish classes and is now a Goldfish. As a proud parent, I have to take a moment and brag on how well she's doing!!

She's now able to:
*Doggie paddle one width of the pool with her cube on (a strap-on float) by herself
*Swim 4-5 seconds underwater by herself without a float
*Jump in from poolside and kick herself (mostly) back to the surface
*Do sitting dives from poolside
*Swim to the bottom of the shallow end (3' 6"), grab a colored ring, and swim back to the surface by herself
*Doggie paddle 3-4 feet to the rail and pull her head and shoulders out of the water

Things she does NOT like to do:
*Float on her back... this is similar to what I would imagine pulling teeth feels like. She will yell, "Mommy! I don't like the water in my ears!! MOMMMMYYYY!!"

And of course, no post would be complete without some photos of our little Goldfish.

Kick, kick, kick

Working on kicking

(Note: This photo does not do justice to her true feelings toward floating on her back.)
Her LEAST favorite part of swim lessons

Jumping in... love my face here!
