Shi had her 6 month well-baby checkup today (technically closer to 6 1/2 months because Dr. Hammond has been on vacation... where we will also be heading soon... woohoo!). Her stats were:
17 lbs 1 oz. (slightly below 75th percentile)
27 inches tall (slightly above 75th percentile)
Super cute and healthy!!
Our baby girl is growing up so fast, much to Mommy's desperate pleas! She is rolling all over the place, sitting up really well, and jabbering "Mamama", "Nanana", and "Dadada". She loves her baby food (oatmeal, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, and bananas so far) and drinking out of Mommy or Daddy's cup!
I walked into her room a couple nights ago to check on her because she was very quiet and I thought she'd fallen asleep... only to be greeted by this scene! I couldn't be upset because, come on, how cute is that?!? She pushes up straight onto her arms like in this picture, and will also try to draw her legs under her and hike her little tooshy up in the air, but not simultaneously.... which is okay with me, because when she figures that out, it will only be a matter of time until she starts crawling, and I know I am certainly not ready for that!

Are you kidding me? Is that a beach house at the outerbanks? Erik's family goes there every year! We missed this past year- for obvious reasons... Make sure to keep Shi well hydrated and keep a poop count! by about day 4 Matthew was so constipated he just cried and cried- with so many people around helping care for him, I had no clue when he'd had his last dirty diaper... several cups of apple juice later, he was doing well... :)
