status post sabbatical

wow... ok, sorry guys! i won't attempt to make up some sorry excuse for my temporary LOA -- but here i am again! the last few weeks have pretty much been filled with adjusting to work and spending the rest of my time with my precious baby girl and husband (he manages to eek out a little of my time, anyway :) i'm trying to think of whether i have much to fill you guys in on... hmmm... not much, really!!

we bought baby girl her first Bible (The Jesus Storybook Bible) and have been reading to her from it each night...

i planted a small flowerbed around our mailbox (well, maybe i helped my aunt do it!) and some vegetables in our backyard (tomatoes, green peppers, jalapenos) and am slightly sunburned as a result...

i am going to see dcfc in indy on june 14...

the 3 of us are going to outer banks at the end of july with my dad... and staying here...

here are the 2 bridesmaid dresses i will be sporting this summer -- first this one in cornflower for melissa's wedding in july, and then this one in european red for erin and mark's wedding in august...

hmmm... can't think of much else at the moment. talk to you crazy kids later... this sleepy girl is heading to bed!

YEAH! Have fun at the beach and think of us while you're there! We've gone with Erik's family the past 2 years- and will have to miss out this summer! :(
Think about giving Shi some apple juice if she gets a little constipated! Matthew had problems for 2 or 3 days while we were there when he was 6 months old- NOT fun.
Have you been before? You should totally eat at Howard's pub on Okracoke Island- just be prepared for it to be HOT! :)

Hi

I'm the author of The Jesus Storybook Bible and I came across your blog via a google alert thing and thought I'd stop by and say Hi.

Love your blog and so glad you're enjoying the book. It's God's Wonderful Story--and i'm so honored to have a part in retelling it for children.

Anyway, my best to you and your baby girl!

PS you may be interested to know about some cool resources on my site connected with the book, including audio of me reading the stories, downloadable stories, interviews and reviews--as well as other new children's books that your little girl may love (including a brand new one that is an instruction manual for children on the nurture and care of grandparents, THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO GRANDMAS AND GRANDPAS)

good choice on the Bible. And how fun the author left you a comment! Also, your vacation plans sound great! We are taking a vacation this year (end of Oct) to somewhere beach-y.
